Using Fair Grove's Sewerage Deduct Meter
|
Before you start
|
If you are on a sewer average, requesting a sewerage deduct meter is not necessary. On a sewer average, you are able to use any quantity of water you wish without regard to your sewerage bill. Most Fair Grove water customers are covered by a sewer average, but you can call City Hall if you have any questions.
In cases where you are not on a sewer average, unless you measure the water you use for landscaping, powerwashing, swimming pools, or other non-potable/non-sanitary uses, you are required to pay the equivalent sewer bill for that water usage -- even though that water never reaches Fair Grove's sewer treatment facility.
The City of Fair Grove governs the operation of the sewer treatment facilities and provides sewerage deduct meters, for a small rental fee and refundable deposit, for your use in cases where your water use is not covered by sewer averages.

Getting a Sewerage Deduct Meter
|
Stop by City Hall during business hours and fill out a deduct meter agreement. This form is not available online.
Next, pay the $5.00 meter rental fee and make the $50.00 meter deposit. The meter deposit is a refundable fee, if the meter is returned in original condition to the city offices.
Hook the deduct meter inline to the hose or plumbing being used for a deductible use of water. This may include filling a swimming pool, washing with a powerwash, or landscaping. Other uses may need to be approved by City of Fair Grove staff.
Finally, return the meter when you are finished, or supply the meter reading as requested, to City Hall to have the water usage deducted from your sewerage bill.
